Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is one of Europe’s busiest airports, with more than 55 airlines flying to over 190 destinations. There are services to 29 airports in the UK and an ever-expanding European network, which now covers 100 airports. The majority of UK and European airports are served by low-cost, budget airlines. Dublin Airport has two terminals (1 & 2). The airport is approximately 20 minutes from the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel by car with taxi, bus and coach links. The simplest way to get from the airport to the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel and many hotels is by taxi, however you can also take the Dublin Express Bus to Christchurch Cathedral and then walk 6 minutes to the hotel. 

Dublin Port

Dublin is also accessible by sea from Britain and France. The major ferry companies are Irish Ferries and StenaLine. Further information on sailings are available on their websites. Dublin Port is just minutes away, while Rosslare Harbour, with regular ferry services to Wales, France and Spain, is located just 2 hour’s drive or 3 hour Train journey from The Radisson Blu Royal Hotel.

DART Train & Tram (Luas)

The DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) rail network runs along the coast of Dublin, from Malahide and Howth, to Bray and Greystones, providing transport from the city centre to suburban areas. Tara Street and Dublin Pearse Stations are all located about a 20 minute walk from the conference hotel. The Transport for Ireland Live App can be used to determine how to get from point A to B anywhere in Dublin using a combination of Dublin Bus, Luas and DART links.

If you are planning on taking public transport multiple times, you are able to purchase a Visitor Leap Card either online or from selected agents in Dublin, many of which are located within Dublin Airport’s Arrivals Terminal.

The Luas is Dublin‘s light rail transit system. St. Stephen's Green on the Green line is the closest stop to the conference hotel. There are two lines, the Green Line and the Red Line. It is possible to switch from the Red to the Green Line between Abbey Street and O’Connell - GPO (northbound) / Marlborough (southbound) stops. Dublin Bikes

Dublin is one of many European cities that offer a bike sharing scheme for its many visitors and residents. You will see throughout the city centre the “dbs”, "NOW" or “DublinBikes” among others parked throughout the capital.

Taxi Services

There are a a large number of taxi services available in the city centre. Taxis from the airport to the city centre are readily available outside of both arrivals halls. A taxi from the airport to the City Centre should cost approximately €40-€45, from the airport to the city centre approximately €20-€30. Please ensure to only travel in a licensed taxi - they will have their taxi license displayed on the dashboard. Taxis are readily available all over the city with listed taxi ranks in most of the main tourist areas, and it is also possible to hail a licensed taxi on the street. Please note that while all taxis take cash, not all accept credit card payments. It is recommended to confirm the available payment methods before starting your fare. Both Uber and FreeNow taxi apps operate in Dublin, it is recommended to download one of them before arrival.
